The world most intense neutron beams under protection with VadaTech Inc. innovative solution based on Xilinx FPGA.

A new Machine Protection System is being developed at the Spallation Neutron Source. VadaTech supplied the unique configurable crossbar switch solution for deterministic, low-latency inter-blade communications. The full article is available here. This innovative solution is based on VadaTech's MCH UTC006.

“Within a day or so we were compiling all of the source files and had the EPICS IOC acquiring data from the Analog Devices AD9653 ADC’s”

VadaTech's customer reported that they were “very impressed with the DAQ523 system when it arrived with EPICS support.  Within a day or so we were compiling all of the source files and had the EPICS IOC running acquiring data from the Analog Devices AD9653 ADC’s.” The system is based on a very flexible high-density 12 channels 125MHz ADC and Kintex-7 FPGA. The DAQ523 including DAQ Series™ source code can be ordered with passive frontend MZ523A, programmable frontend MZ523B (attenuation/gain/coupling), or MZ523C custom frontend for Optical Detector.

“VadaTech MicroTCA.4 hardware platform to measure electron density in KSTAR Tokamak.”

The National Fusion Research Institute (NFRI) of Korea, a world-renowned research institute, recognized the need to upgrade their plasma control system. In common with many of their counterparts in the high energy physics community, NFRI is adopting the MicroTCA.4 architecture as a common platform for high performance embedded computing.

“We need Scientific Linux”

“[Scientific Linux] has even been loaded onto systems at the International Space Station. […] Probably the two most famous experiments to depend on Scientific Linux (SL) are the CDF and D0 experiments at Fermilab and the Large Hadron Collider experiments at CERN” [1]. Scientific Linux is an Enterprise Linux rebuild sponsored by Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory [and] joined by CERN [2]. VadaTech supports Scientific Linux on its AMC725 MTCA.4 Intel CPU board. Original requirements and delivery for SL from VadaTech is related to KSTAR project.

 “Your guidance saved the project”

VadaTech customer developed their own AMC, integrated with VadaTech crate, CPU and I/O. They have beneficiated from VadaTech’s support and expertise, reporting later that some issue faced during development was solved based on VadaTech’s help: “Your guidance saved this project” reported the developer onsite.VadaTech has a wide portfolio allowing laboratories and research centers to order the crate, power supplies, management, the I/O and processor boards assembled and tested at factory in Henderson, NV USA. Physicists and subcontractors can really focus on adding their own value as soon as the hardware is delivered. Having a single point of contact for the whole solution allows our customers to avoid oscillating between suppliers when it comes to support questions. VadaTech can provide 24h support through worldwide location.
