We are pleased to celebrate receiving the BAE Exceptional Performance award to VadaTech for our work on the Navy’s P8-A program.

The accolade was given in recognition of VadaTech’ s extraordinary efforts and contributions to the program, and adherence to BAE’s core values. As a supplier, VadaTech was instrumental in the design and manufacture of components provided to BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration group, maintaining a high level of quality while meeting on-time delivery goals.

RF Sub-Systems
VadaTech continues to push the bandwidth, sample rate and capability of our RF modules.  The AMC597, for example, uses quad AD9371 to provide eight wideband transceivers in a single-module AMC, while the VPX597 provides the same architecture in 3U OpenVPX form factor.  The user can access the extensive capabilities of the AD9371 using Analog Devices RadioVerseâ„¢ design tools, while the Xilinx Kintex UltraScaleâ„¢ FPGA comes with a reference design implementation including VHDL source code, documentation and configuration binaries (with royalty-free licence for use on VadaTech hardware).

To help build complete sub-systems, other units available include;
  • analog filter with gain control – AMC902
  • DAC with quadrature modulator – FMC229
  • local oscillator (DDS or PLL) – FMC154
ADC rates up to 6.4 GSPS and DAC up to 12 GSPS are available in FMC, AMC and VPX form factors.

FMC+

VadaTech is now shipping carriers and FM C modules to the FMC+ (VITA 57.4) specification.  These make use of the higher number of serial lanes on the FMC+ connector to support more devices using JESD204B for high-speed ADC/DAC.  Examples include our FMC250, which provides dual AD9625 ADCs providing 12-bit conversion rates of up to 2.6 GSPS, and a single DAC (AD9162 or AD9164) providing 16-bit conversion rates of up to 12 GSPS.  The increased pin count of the FMC+ means that all eight JESD204B lanes can be routed from each AD9625, avoiding the need to decimate on the chip.  An appropriate carrier for this would be our AMC583, a double-module XCKU115-based carrier with two FMC+ sites.  With 8GB of DDR4 and an FPGA boasting over 5,500 DSP slices, the module also has on-board P2040 host processor.

Zynq UltraScale+
VadaTech is pleased to announce availability of our first FMC carriers based on the eagerly awaited Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+â„¢ MPSoC devices.  Each member of this XCZU FPGA family includes quad-core ARM application processor, dual-core ARM real-time processor and Maliâ„¢ graphics processing unit, as well as generous block RAM and UltraRAM (dual-port, synchronous memory).  Our AMC581 uses ‘EG’ variant devices, high-performance units suitable for applications from networking and security to medical imaging and sensor processing.  Our AMC582 is based on the ‘EV’ variant, which includes an integrated H.264 / H.265 video codec capable of simultaneous encode and decode up to 4Kx2K (60 fps), so is suitable for a broad range of embedded video applications.
