Can MicroTCA Help You With Your Application? 

VadaTech develops embedded solutions in multiple open-standard architectures.  But MicroTCA is our standard of choice because of its tremendous versatility and performance – and in most applications, it can be used to provide a cost-effective and time-saving solution for you.   

Some of the core features of the technology are that it has provisions for up to 99.99999% uptime reliability, high scalability, compactness, vast and proven ecosystem, and low cost.  Its inherent system/health management and interoperability are the envy of other open architectures. (More on MicroTCA)  

For those familiar with MicroTCA, it is better-known for its leading-edge performance in Communications applications.  It has also started to hit a critical mass of awareness/acceptance in Mil/Aero applications, typically with standard MTCA.0 products.   Plus of course, MicroTCA is the architecture of choice for High Energy Physics.  But, there are other applications for MicroTCA that are not as well known.  

Network Security – Used for secure communications hubs in multiple Communications and Defense/HLS applications.  

Rugged Applications (MTCA.1, MTCA.2/.3) – Includes both Mil/Aero and outdoor applications.  VadaTech’s wealth of A/D and D/A converters, cutting-edge FPGAs, storage, graphics, and more provide the full solution.  One application example utilizes our VT872 ATR chassis for an edge-of-network device placed on street lamps.   

Test & Measurement – Semiconductor test and other applications often utilize our 1U chassis with PrAMC, FPGA, and storage.    

Video Processing – Ranges from rugged airborne applications to Broadcast markets for video compression/media transport.  Our VT880 and VT812 are both 2U chassis used in these applications. The VT812 is a MTCA.4 version with RTMs.   

Industrial Control – Includes power distribution control systems, lithography, motion control, and much more. Many of these applications utilize our industrial-grade rugged MTCA.1 chassis.  

Medical – MicroTCA is a good fit for medical systems that require high reliability and performance.  MRIs, PET/CAT Scanners, etc are appropriate applications.
